Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 25, 2026
Waldo Ventures LLC (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile applications (Curated, Dossier, and any future apps).
Because our apps have different features, their data practices differ. Where a section applies to only one app, it is labeled accordingly.
App Privacy Summary
In accordance with Apple’s App Store privacy guidelines, here is a summary of our data practices:
Data Used to Track You
None. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Data Linked to You
Dossier (with account): If you create a Dossier account, the following data is linked to your account for cloud backup and sync:
- Contact Info: Email address used for authentication
- User Content: Contacts, places, interactions, milestones, and notes you create in the app
Curated: No data is linked to your identity.
Data Not Linked to You
The following data may be collected but is not linked to your identity:
- Usage Data: Product interaction data such as app launches, feature usage, and content category preferences
Curated — Data Practices
Data Stored on Your Device (Not Collected)
In Curated, the following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Your saved items: Content you save or bookmark (media, articles, etc.)
- Your preferences: App settings and display preferences
Because this data never leaves your device, it is not “collected” under Apple’s definition and you maintain complete control over it.
Dossier — Data Practices
Local-Only Mode
You can use Dossier without creating an account. In local-only mode, all data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. The data practices described above for Curated apply in this case.
Cloud Sync (Account Required)
If you create a Dossier account, your data is synced to our cloud servers so it can be backed up and accessible if you switch devices. The data synced includes:
- Account email address — used for authentication
- Contacts you create or import: Names, phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, social-media handles, notes, and profile photos
- Places (Points of Interest): Names, addresses, coordinates, notes, and photos
- Interactions: Records of meetings, calls, and other interactions you log
- Milestones: Birthdays, anniversaries, and other dates you track
- Tags and associations: Links between contacts and places
Contacts Import
Dossier can import contacts from your device’s address book. When you choose to import:
- You explicitly select which contacts to import — we never access your full address book in the background.
- Imported contact data (name, phone, email, address) is copied into the Dossier database.
- If you have a Dossier account, imported contacts are synced to our servers for backup, just like any other Dossier data.
How Dossier Data Is Stored
Synced data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Each user’s data is isolated by their account ID and protected by Row Level Security policies, meaning you can only read and write your own data.
We do not sell, share, or provide your data to third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose. Our servers access your data only to provide the sync and backup service to you.
Data Collected for Analytics (All Apps)
We collect the following anonymized usage data to improve the app experience:
| Data Type | Purpose | Linked to Identity |
|---|---|---|
| Product Interaction | Analytics | No |
Product Interaction includes: app launches, taps, feature usage (such as which content categories are browsed), and aggregate counts of saved items by category.
How We Use Collected Data
Collected data is used solely for Analytics purposes:
- Understanding which features are most useful
- Identifying popular content categories
- Improving app performance and user experience
- Planning future features based on usage patterns
We do NOT use collected data for:
- Third-party advertising
- Developer’s advertising or marketing
- Tracking you across other apps or websites
- Sharing with data brokers
Third-Party Services
Google Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to process anonymized usage data. Firebase receives usage events but cannot identify individual users because:
- We have disabled advertising ID collection (IDFA)
- We do not transmit user names or phone numbers to Firebase
- All analytics data is aggregated and anonymized before analysis
Supabase (Dossier only): If you create a Dossier account, your data is synced to Supabase-hosted infrastructure. Supabase acts as our data processor and does not use your data for any purpose other than providing the hosting service. See Supabase’s Privacy Policy for details.
Content APIs: When you search for or save content, we may fetch metadata (such as movie posters or book covers) from third-party APIs. These requests are made to provide you with rich content information and do not include any personal data.
Tracking
We do not track you. Under Apple’s definition, “tracking” means linking data from our app with third-party data for targeted advertising or sharing data with data brokers. We do neither of these things.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local Data: All your saved items are stored on your device. You can delete individual items within the app or delete all data by uninstalling the app.
Dossier Cloud Data: If you have a Dossier account, you can delete your account and all associated cloud data from the Account screen within the app. Upon deletion, all synced data is permanently removed from our servers.
Analytics Data: Anonymized analytics data is retained by Firebase according to their standard retention policies. Because this data is not linked to your identity, it cannot be attributed to or deleted for specific users.
Your Privacy, Your Choice
Curated does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the app.
Dossier can be used entirely offline without an account. Creating an account is optional and enables cloud backup and cross-device sync. During sign-up, you will be asked to agree to our Terms of Use, which explain how your data is handled.
Children’s Privacy
Our apps do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Our apps are designed to be safe for users of all ages, and no personal data collection occurs without explicit user action (creating an account).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
